Val d’Orcia Festivals
Being a land of great culture and traditions, Val d’Orcia offers numerous moments dedicated to them and throughout the year there is a long series of events dedicated to music and art.
First of all, the theater season of Monticchiello which revolves around the “Teatro Povero” and which takes place between the last week of July and the first two weeks of August (summer season) and during the Christmas period (winter season). They have become unmissable opportunities for the public who have learned about our village for 50 years now. Citizens become actors and the town becomes an evocative stage for the staging of an auto-drama every new year in form and content, written and interpreted by the people of Monticchiello and for which it was awarded the prestigious Ubu prize, including the most important national theatrical awards. A unique experience that draws on the traditional heritage of this land, renewing it in a continuous dialogue with the most important issues of current affairs and contemporary society.

Calici Sotto le Stelle is another tasty appointment to savor excellent music together with Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. It is held during the summer in various places in the beautiful town. Very convivial event, it particularly attracts young people. more
